Poor baby...

Micah has been sick the last few days, and it's definitely been challenging for me as well! He started coming down with a fever Monday late-morning, and going to bed tonight (Thursday night) is still with that fever. We actually headed to the doctor this afternoon, because they told me with a fever on its 4th day, it was worth getting checked out. Thankfully nothing serious came back - as they tested him for strep since his throat was really red - and checked his ears and found all to be in working order. Tonight he was actually acting more and more like himself, so I'm taking that as a good sign and that health is on the mend.

Tuesday was such a sad day, as Micah didn't leave the couch for more than an hour all day - and that was to sleep in his crib. Micah is not typically a cuddler...he's a very sweet boy, but just too active to sit and be still. Tuesday, Wednesday, today - all came with a different little boy. He just hung all over me, wanted to be right next to me, and wanted me to hold him all day. It's so sweet, but also so sad to know your little boy is not feeling well. And on top of that, I'm 32 weeks pregnant :) Not quite as much room on my lap as normal, and definitely a challenge to try and comfort Micah (especially for 3 days straight!). Wednesday wasn't much better, but there were minimal gains, and today he actually went to Emy's house until I took off to take him to the doctor.

Moments of sleep that occurred throughout the day...I think the first time Micah's ever slept on the couch, which shows just how sick he was!

What a sad little face...one that I love with all my heart!

Thankfully, as I said above, he's on the mend and we're working our way back to some normalcy in our house. This week has definitely given me an appreciation for moms with multiple children that figure out how to continue to play the balancing act! Soon enough, I'll be figuring that out as well...8 more weeks :)

Kitchen Helper

Too often Micah finds the kitchen door accidentally open a split second too long and before I have a chance to close it he's already pulling out the bottles on the side...and while I know this isn't the most energy efficient method of playing, I've sacrificed that a few times at the joy he has in lining up all the bottles. And, I've been able to deep clean all the drawers while empty that I haven't done otherwise. :)

Yesterday I decided to make some banana bread, and after playing his bottle game, he decided he wanted to help me instead. With detailed supervision, of course, I let him do some of the ingredients. Micah figured out how to turn on and off the mixer when I needed, and with only one mess of flour on the ground later, we were seeing the final product being poured into the pan to bake.

Happy Valentine's Day - 2012!

Enough of these pictures, already. I know, I know...I'm your valentine Momma.

Yet again, Christian is traveling on Valentine's Day. It's a good thing we don't need 1 day each year to show our love to each other, because we'd seriously be in a drought after the last two years :). I have a great husband though and am reminded all the time how blessed I am to be his wife. And although we don't need Valentine's Day to express that love, it is nice to have a day that brings that love to the forefront.

And that is exactly what happened when I got to school...I get an email that says "you have something pretty in the office." Hmm...what could that be, and who could it be from? Aww, my sweet husband sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Then I went and picked up Micah from Emy's house and discovered he had created a little valentine's day card for Christian and myself.

Micah loves to look at himself (whose vain kid is this?!? :)) so I decided to try another little photo shoot with him on my phone. He is getting so good at mimicking - something I have to keep in mind on a daily basis - but it's also fun to see him trying to be like his Momma or Dada.

I love my boys and can't wait to add another to the mix next year! Valentine's Day will never be the same again :)

Curious George

Micah is loving Curious George lately. I wish I could say I'm upset (as Curious George always does something "mischievous" and then never ends up getting in trouble for it...so not quite sure what message we're sending there:)). But I'm not upset. It's so nice to have a break from Baby Einstein, which is all he's liked up to this point. Not that we try and get him to watch TV that often, but it is nice to have the downtime, and we're getting a nice little routine going which I hope can carry in to baby #2.

After nap time, Micah usually gets his snack, his stuffed Curious George (thanks Uncle Andy and Aunt Katie!), and sits down to watch a "show". It's so cute, and I'm glad I was able to capture it one day:)

"Cheese!"

Now back to the show Momma:)

"Hi Nana - KAY. Hi Papa - C!"

Micah calls my parents Nana and Papa, even though technically they have been deemed Nana Kay and Papa C. The double name was too much for the little vocabulary learner to take on...but today he changed his tune! We were driving home from his sitter's house after I picked him up today and he just started talking. I had never heard him put the "Kay" or "C" onto my parents name so I had to try and get that on video.

This was our first attempt - and I just love how he becomes distracted by the "lel-low" car!

Working on all the members of our family :) Josh is Kari's boyfriend, and sounds pretty close to Jeff - which is funny since at first glance their appearance is similar too. Sometimes it's hard for me to distinguish which name he's saying - even when looking at pictures, haha.

11.5 inches later...

I finally did it! After much deliberation and many months (years) of growing, I went in tonight for a much needed haircut. 10 inches of a ponytail and another 1-1.5 inches of hair cut off, and I feel significantly lighter...which is hard to do for a 29 week pregnant lady:) It will definitely take a bit of an adjustment...and might end with me going back next week to get blond highlights put back in, haha, but I can say no tears were shed in the process. And it feels good to be able to donate my hair to Locks of Love - "a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis."

Before - definitely the longest my hair has been in quite awhile.

The Cut!

In the process - all smiles:)

The final side view...

At home - got the okay from the husband (with a slight plea for blond:))

Thanks Angie! I'm sure you'll be seeing me sooner than later.
