Random October

October was a great month! It wasn't too cold, we took trips to the zoo, football game, played in the leaves and helped flush out a fire hydrant. Such a great month and feeling very blessed for the friend and family time outside :)

Happy Halloween!

What a difference a year makes! Gemma learned the ropes real quick and was a pro at grabbing that candy, and taking more than one piece, and then convincing the candy givers to hand her more by standing there and saying "more candy" haha. I swear she walked away with more candy than her brothers combined :)  It was a great night, nice weather, and we had a blast trick or treating with friends for the second year in a row. We also were able to have Grandma and Grandpa here to participate, and I know the kiddos were so happy for that!

Happy Halloween from our Paw Patrol Pups, here to keep you safe! (Marshall, Chase and Skye)

Abbey Farms!

Abbey Farms is right by our house and a yearly tradition for us to go. We've changed it up over the years on who we've gone with, and this year we headed over with the Sjogrens...as I found out the have never been! I couldn't believe it, as we have literally gone the past 6-7 years. It was a perfect day for the farm as it was a little overcast and cool and therefore not too crowded. The kids had a blast playing at the park, riding the zipline, jumping on the jumpy pillow and going down the slide. But their favorite activity was probably the hot chocolate and apple cider doughnuts! YUM. Fun day out with the family and friends...and we came home to watch the Cubbies win their 2nd World Series game to push the series to game 6 in Cleveland. Good day, indeed ;)

Kari comes stateside!

We had such a great weekend in St. Louis visiting my parents and my sister. I wasn't sure how much time I would be able to get with her, as she was in town for her best friend's wedding and pretty packed with a schedule to keep. Thankfully, however, she joined me on my 20 mile run which gave us some unexpected uninterrupted sister time! After that I joined Kari for her friends wedding and my parents then met us later with Reid and Gemma. I feel so grateful to have had the time with Kari while there as those moments are far and few between.
