15 months for Reid!

How is it possible that Reid is 15 months already?  We just had his birthday party, it feels, and here he is 15 months!  He's such a sweet baby boy, so smiley and just so happy.  He loves dancing to music and really starts moving whenever there's a good beat.

We had his 15 month appointment today and found out that he also has ALL FOUR of his molars coming in at one time.  That would explain the bit of fussiness that we've had off and on - and I thought it was because tooth #8 just popped through...only to find out teeth #9-12 are on their way!  He actually has already pooped one molar, and another is very close behind.

His vocabulary is typically "Mama" most of the day ;)  Love a momma's boy!  He also regularly says "Dada" and has 1-2 other words.  He certainly knows a lot and it's really fun to see.  The other day I asked him to get me his milk, and he walks back in the room carrying his milk cup.  I also asked him to grab a book for me at bedtime, and he did.  Those are just a couple of examples of ways in which his communication is growing, just not his ability to verbally communicate.  I love watching him learn and grow into a bigger boy.  He has started giving hugs when you ask for them, and sometimes when you don't, too :).  He loves dairy and fruit.  Vegetables, not so much, but we're working on them.  Juicing has been successful for us in getting him veggies.  He's also down to 1 nap now, 90% of the time.  Truly, I'll only do 2 naps if I need to do something around 11-12, otherwise he goes down around 11:30 and sleeps about 2-3 hours.

15 month old doctor stats:
Length - 30.75 inches, 35%
Weight - 23.3pounds, 60%
Head Circumference - 18.5 inches, 50%

Reid is crazy active, in to everything, and always on the go!  He certainly keeps me on my toes and gives me a run for my money.  He also has a happy and smiley demeanor overall, except for those 1 year old independence moments when he wants to do what HE wants to do :)  but he brings us such joy and is such a great piece of our family.  We love him so, so much and are blessed beyond measure with his little life.

Naperville Riverwalk

For Josh and Kari's last night here we decided to head in to downtown Naperville.  Josh hadn't seen it yet, and it's a cute area and we wanted to have fun our last night with them.  On the way there we were jamming to some music and Josh got a cute video of Reid bopping right along with everyone else ;)  In addition to Reid dancing, Micah at the end is trying to sing along to the song since I am singing the words.  Clearly he doesn't know the song (and shouldn't! :)) but I love watching him trying to sing too.

We ate at a newer restaurant in Naperville called Q-BBQ and had some fabulous burnt ends and then headed to the river walk for water play and duck watching.

A couple of pictures with the happy couple.

Me and my sister :)

Sisters!

The boys enjoyed time at this fountain.  Reid and Kari played in the water while Josh and Micah threw coins in to the water and made wishes.  Not sure Micah really understood what he was doing, but it was a sweet moment nonetheless.

A couple of pictures with our boys.

No idea what Micah is doing here, but the picture made me smile.

We love you Josh and Kari!  Thanks for all the fun memories.  Safe travels back to Africa...you will be missed!

Family time :)

I love my family.  Love them.  And I love my extended family.  It's fun watching my boys interact with my family and getting to know them even better.  We have taken full advantage of spending time with Josh and Kari - including them spending some one on one time with each boy as well.

Last week they took Micah to Bouncetown and then Chick-Fil-A for lunch.  I think it's safe to say that fun was had by all :)

Sunday I dressed the boys alike...it doesn't happen often, but I love it when it does :)

Nana Kay happened to be matching the boys in color, and while we couldn't get Micah in the picture, we were able to get one with Reid.

Reid still staring at Uncle Josh ;)

My cute boys.

Enjoying some down time with Uncle Josh

And chillin' with his Aunt and Uncle before bedtime.

Do I have to go to bed??

It's been a really enjoyable couple of weeks!  Time flies, and we now have to adjust to not having them around again :)

Summer Moments

The below pictures are a compilation over the past couple of months, that really didn't deserve different posts, but I wanted to make sure I captured some of the moments.

Micah's really been in to building towers, and I was pretty impressed with this one.  He made room for 2 cars, tigger and buzz.  I helped him only with the base to make sure it stayed strong, and he did the rest.  Architect in the making, maybe?? :)

"Cheese"

Reid on the run at the park!  Such a big boy now.

Micah is able to climb most slides now at every park.

Chillin' at the splash pad during the hot days.

Reid wasn't too sure at first, but he seemed to adjust after a little play.

My boys - all 3 of them!

Reid has now begun how to climb...on everything!  The ottoman was his next victim.  Just look at that smile ;)

And why not stand as well??

Who, me? :)

Yes, that is a bucket on his head.  Put on there by himself.

Spaceman Reid!

Hitting his head...

And cracking up about it.  Silly boy :)

Minutes later...still going strong.

Micah not wanting to miss out on some photo ops.

Here either :)

Reid taking over the pushing duties of his friend Declan (my neighbor's little boy who is about 6 weeks older than him).

The bucket provides endless hours of fun right now.

The phone that kept Reid occupied for much of Josh and Kari's time at our house, lol. (That and the bucket, haha).

Precious snuggle moments with Micah watching his show post nap.
