4 months for Gemma!

What a wild ride it's been this month, Gemma!  You have become more of a little person and not just a sleeping/eating/crying baby!  You are smiling, laughing, cooing and staying up for longer periods of time without fussing too much.  Your face LIGHTS UP when you hear your Daddy's voice, and already I can tell you're going to be daddy's little girl.  Your nighttime sleeping this month has thrown me for a loop, but I'm trying to stay the course/go with the flow/etc, knowing this too shall pass and just when I think I figure something out it'll change!  We are just falling more and more in love with you Gemma and can't imagine you not being here!  Your brothers continue to just love on you ALL.DAY.LONG.  Especially Micah.  He just can't stay away from you and you definitely save some of your precious little smiles for him :)  Stay little, baby girl.  You're growing up too quickly!!

Working on her new skill...rolling!

Big brother wanted to get in on the pictures too :)  He loves her so!

Just check out that love in his expression.

Dr Stats: height - 25" (72%), weight - 14lb 4oz (50%), head circumference 16.26" (70%)

Things to remember:

  • How you've learned how to roll over this month from tummy to back...which is great, except that it's causing some rough times during naps and nighttime.  You'll wake up, get mad, and end up rolling over and then crying harder because you don't know how to go back to sleep and need help!
  • How much you love, love, love your fingers in your mouth.  Not sure if you're teething yet, but it sure seems like you might be.
  • How you love to stick your tongue out, when your fingers aren't in your mouth!
  • How you've taken to lots of smiles - and light up when you hear your daddy's voice as well as when big brother Micah fawns all over you (all.the.time!)
  • How nursing has actually made some improvements...which started with me dropping the early evening and bedtime feeding.  We're all a little happier these days, and it's made the other nursing sessions that much more enjoyable and special.
  • How your nighttime sleep has become somewhat comprised, I'm hoping is only temporary...but time will tell.
  • How you've started hanging out in the bumbo and exersaucer for awhile this month!  No more bouncy seat you said, and Momma listened after much protest :)
  • How well you are still taking naps, when need be, in the ergo.  As well as doing well with naps in your crib.  For that, I am thankful Gemma!!  You have made it fairly easy on me from that standpoint for transporting purposes.
  • How you're continuing to make gains in the car for contentedness.  We can probably go about 20-25 minutes before you start to fuss heavily...and lots of that is due to your self soothing of your fingers in your mouth!
  • How adorable you look with a bow in your hair...which Momma loves putting you in :)
  • How you've *mostly* made the transition to your crib only for nighttime sleep...hopefully by month 5 that's 100%.

You're doing amazing sweet pea!  You're fitting in quite well in our family and we're looking forward to month 5.
