For the second year in a row, we almost made it all the way through our Christmas Eve service at church. While we could have put Reid and Gemma in childcare, we really wanted to be together as a family in the service enjoying and soaking in the coming of Christ as best we can with the ages of our children. Gemma was a bit squirmy and had to be taken out for the message, but otherwise did well and Reid and Micah did great. I think it's important for them to sit through our service sometimes and allow them to soak in what they can. Hearing about Christ's birth, singing praise to Him and recognizing the true meaning of Christmas is so important to us. And the candlelit part of the message - singing Silent Night and thinking about Mary and Joseph trekking to Bethlehem to find some place for her to give birth... it's a breathtaking moment that I pray my boys understand the significance. Thank you Jesus for humbling yourself to be born as a baby in a manger.
"Christ the savior is born."
