I went in the room when Micah's was done, and it was horrible for me! This time around I told Christian it was all him, and I would wait in the office for them to be done. I could still hear Reid crying, but it was more tolerable than it had been with Micah. If we ever go through this again, I will choose to do the same thing again. All that to say that Reid's appointment, while it went as planned, was not your typical 2 week appointment that most newborns have. He has been recovering well from that surgery, but when we went in for Micah's 2 year last Thursday found out he was sick with bronchiolitis...passed on from big brother, which mean Micah had is as well. In addition to the chest congestion/cough, Micah also had an ear infection in his right ear. Well, that did some explaining for the way Micah had been acting for the last week. Dr. Natalie prescribed a nebulizer as well as an antibiotic for Micah and told me to keep a close watch on Reid. He wasn't at that point yet, but if he seemed to be wheezing and/or not eating as much and having difficulty sleeping/breathing to take him to the ER to help get him some oxygen.
Aghh!!! Rough, rough day, and on top of it all, Christian was leaving for a business trip 4 hours later. With an infectious household, we couldn't even have anyone come and help, and I was going solo with 2 sick boys...not to mention Christian and I were feeling sick as well. I called my friend Kate on the way home from the appointment because she had kindly offered to bring a meal for us, and I ended up breaking down crying to her.
But I can say, 5 days later, we are all on the mend. Reid's cough is still present and I'm hoping it passes quickly, but Micah is definitely back to normal and Christian and I are (hopefully) not far behind.
My poor baby using his "fishy" mask. He actually loved this mask because he was able to watch an episode of Curious George every time he did it, which was 3 times a day...heaven for Micah:)
