This isn't Micah's first crush, but the first crush on him. It's actually been quite sweet to watch, and funny to see the differences between boys and girls on this thing. I've been in a mother's bible study all year called "A Mother's Heart" and have met some great girls there. One of the girls' daughters has developed quite the crush on Micah. She is constantly asking about him, if he'll be in class, can they have him over for a play date, etc. We did one play date a little while back, and it was cute to watch. Micah's clueless, might I add. He's more concerned with all the boys in his class than any of the girls, but I love it all the same.
The time Christian and I were gone in London and my friend Kate took the boys to bible study, Micah helped be a door greeter. Apparently when Ellie (the girl with the crush) saw him holding the door, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Mom, look at how STRONG Micah is. I can't believe he can hold the door all by himself." Oh, amazing young crushes :)
So when AMH ended a couple weeks back, Ellie went home that day and drew a "map" for Micah. She wanted to make sure that Micah knew how to get to her house in the summer for play dates since AMH was over. Jackie sent me a picture of it, but I told her she was more than welcome to send it in the mail (as I wanted record of it for his baby book) on top of the fact that Micah is quite obsessed with getting mail these days.
It arrived in the mail a couple days later, and Micah was ecstatic to get mail!
It brought on a flurry of "map" making for him to send to all his friends from AMH as well, including one back to Ellie :) Ah, good memories.
