Train Day Fun

This past weekend we took our first venture as a family on the train.  Reid is quite obsessed with trains these days, and Micah has recently expressed more of an interest due to Reid's interest.  I thought, beautiful weather...free weekend...why not try a new adventure?  So off we headed.  We drove to the Geneva train station and hopped on for 3 stops to get to Wheaton.  The boys loved it!  Reid was so, so excited and loved every second.  "Choo-choo train!!"

I love that both boys had train books on the way to the station!

Pointing out the direction the train would be coming from!

Love the below pics of my boys - sweetly holding hands waiting for the train.

And here it comes!

So excited!

After we got off in Wheaton, we headed to their Farmer's Market (or French Market), which is a favorite of ours to frequent in the summer.  It gets a bit crowded, but it's still a fun adventure!

Micah excited about his strawberry lemonade!

After the market, we headed to Adams park (known as the "kissing park" when I was attending Wheaton, haha" and let the boys run around.  There wasn't a playground in this park, but plenty of wide open grassy areas as well as a fountain in the middle to entertain.

Daddy and his boys...

And Momma and her matching boy!  I didn't realize fully how matching we were when I left the house with a jacket on.  These pictures don't hide the matchiness, however :)

After the park we went and picked up lunch at Shane's Deli and planned to head to another park with an actual playground.  Due to running short on time, we switched gears and instead headed back to the station to eat there and wait for our train back home.

It was a tremendously fun morning (and we had no idea it was also national train day!) and certainly something the boys will remember...I hope :)  Christian and I definitely will I know, and are glad we got a nice memory maker in with the boys before baby girl makes her arrival in less than a month!!  That's right, T-Minus 31 days til our world changes again.  Can't wait!!
