Potty Training Reidees

And so it begins...  Potty Training.  Probably one of the more dreaded parenting jobs of mine in the early years.  It's a thing, really, this parenting gig.  I mean, you are trusted to raise these littles from the beginning.  They know nothing.  The trust you with everything.  Wow.  If that doesn't get you excited but also scare the begeebees out of you, I don't know what does.

Which brings be back to potty training.  Where do you even start?  How do you ensure your child, who has always pee'd and poo'd at whim in their diaper, wherever and whenever, all of a sudden learn to control it and only go on the potty.  And to do this without ruining lots of clothing or causing lots of little messes around the house?  Well, I'm still figuring it out, but that's where we're at.  I finally decided to tackle this notorious job and work on my *almost* 3 year old and his potty training abilities.

So below you see day 1 with Reid on the potty.  We started on the Elmo potty and then shifted to the big boy "Mickey" potty.   At a few days in, he's really doing pretty well!  Minimal accidents and it's usually if I forget to ask him or take him to the potty.  We still have a long way to go, but we've begun the process and it's not as bad as I had anticipated...at least not yet :)

Gotta love the keys and the one sock.  My sweet Reid...
