Happy 3rd Birthday Reid!

Dear Reid,

Happy 3rd birthday to my silly little crazy.  You are such a ham Reid and live life to the fullest, always!  You drive me crazy, make me laugh, cause me frustration as well as fill me with such an intense burst of love and joy.  I love watching you, because you light up the room wherever you go! You have the ability to put smiles on people's faces so quickly with your wit and humor and your sweet little voice and giggle make it hard to stay mad for long.  :)  You make me laugh, Reid, and I know you're going to be right in the middle of the action as you get older!  You're so silly Reid - and I hope you never lose that!  God has blessed you with the ability to find laughter and joy in every little thing, and it's such a fantastic characteristic!

Year 3 has been fun to see you shift from a baby to a toddler and even more to a big boy recently. There are so many changes that happened this year, from getting a sister to losing your pacifier to moving to a big boy bed to beginning to potty train.  Wow, you've got to be exhausted with all the exciting changes!  And you've taken them like a champ.  You did phenomenal with getting rid of your pacifier and transitioning to a big boy bed.  And Gemma Jams...you weren't quite sure what to think about her when she first came, and even struggled as she started becoming mobile.  Within the last few weeks though, baby boy, you have really embraced her in your life and love to make her laugh and play with her!  You and Gemma have a sweet connection and it make this Momma's heart happy when I hear you two giggling together.  Moving on to Micah, you two seem to have a love/hate relationship right now.  You love to be together, hate to be apart, yet you fight like brothers do and enjoy getting under each other's skin.  You're both pretty good at it, but even with all that said, you love Micah so much.  You always ask for him in the morning when you wake, give him the biggest hugs when we pick Micah up at pre-k, and struggle playing when you're not around Micah. One of my prayers for you Reid is that you are always able to play with your siblings and that you all become "as thick as thieves."

Puzzles have become one of your favorite things to do this year, and I'm impressed at how quickly you've learned to put together the harder ones.  You're quite bright Reid, and pick up on things quickly.  You know your colors, your numbers, lots of shapes and have learned how to "read" a few books, and are learning how to play independently when needed, due to Micah at pre-k and Gemma napping.  I'm amazed at your memory.  You seem to remember everything.  Which is also a bit scary, lol.  I have to watch what I say and what I promise to you :)  You're great at physical activities too, and have really taken off on your balance bike.  You even got a two-wheeler for your birthday, as I think it's just a matter of time before you'll be off riding that bike!  Along with the physical activities brings lots of bumps and bruises.  You're actually quite clumsy (sorry buddy, that definitely came from your Momma) and I like to say you are "all boy."  You are stinky and dirty and constantly getting hurt, and while you're all boy, you're also Momma's boy and one little kiss from me heals it all.  I love that.

You're such a sweetheart Reid and Mommy and Daddy love you so much.  Thank you for providing us with such joy!  Thank you for making us laugh and bringing loudness and spunk to our lives.  Happy birthday sweet boy!  I hope you have a fantastic day and feel very, very special.

Love,
Mommy
